This November, our church members joined a short-term mission to Uganda. Last summer one person took part; this year Liby and three young people joined a ten-night, eleven-day journey. We hope this becomes a small but important step in deepening the church’s identity as a missionary church and in connecting Britain, Korea and Africa toward a wider vision for mission.
The programme included a four-day Bible camp for children and young people in a local church, followed by three days of field mission training. We pray that every participant will experience the guidance of the Holy Spirit and return with a deeper understanding of God’s mission.
At Wycliffe Seminary, the student accommodation for which many have prayed has now been completed. Since last term, students have been able to live in a safer and more stable environment and concentrate more fully on their studies.
There is still a serious shortage of facilities and learning resources. The next need is a library and computer facilities. In a context where many students want to study but have very limited access to books, establishing a library and providing learning resources remain urgent priorities.
이번 11월에는 올네이션스교회 성도들이 우간다 단기선교에 참여했습니다. 작년 여름에는 한 명이 참여했지만, 올해는 방미숙 선교사와 세 명의 젊은이들이 함께 10박 11일의 선교 여정을 진행했습니다. 이 경험이 교회의 ‘선교하는 교회’라는 정체성을 더 깊게 하고, 영국과 한국과 아프리카를 잇는 더 넓은 선교 비전을 향한 작은 발걸음이 되기를 기대합니다.
이번 단기선교는 현지 교회에서 어린이와 청소년을 위한 4일간의 성경캠프와 3일간의 현장선교훈련으로 진행되었습니다. 참여한 모든 이들이 성령님의 인도하심을 깊이 경험하고 하나님의 선교를 새롭게 바라보게 되기를 기도합니다.
아프리카 위클리프 신학교에서는 오랫동안 기도해 온 학생 기숙사 건축이 잘 마무리되었습니다. 지난 학기부터 학생들에게 숙소를 제공하면서 더 안전하고 안정된 환경에서 학업에 전념할 수 있게 되었습니다.
그러나 아직 필요한 시설과 자료가 많이 부족합니다. 다음 과제는 도서관과 컴퓨터 시설입니다. 공부하고 싶어도 책과 자료가 부족한 현실 속에서 도서관을 세우고 필요한 자료를 갖추는 일은 매우 절실한 필요입니다.
